I am a big fan of Spiderworld... A BIG FAN...I have followed this series since discovering The Delta in a local library and collecting backwards! These books are fabulous. What a disappointment this final effort is in the series. For fans of Spiderworld this book although follows directly from the events of The Magician although it is as if Mr Wilson has entered a different 'fantasy' style and world to communicate his new story complete with giants and faerie-types - completely unlike the three previous, fantastically interesting books. For fans like me this is a must buy to complete the series (Perhaps Mr Wilson can retrieve the situation with the implied sequel) but you will be disappointed. Perhaps 10 years is too long a time in order to finally complete a series and with all respect to a hard working and respected author - this is not a good finale...

Though this was not as good as The Magician, and was not what i was expecting I did thoroughly enjoy this book. It starts off a little slow with Niall meeting a bizarre race of beings which initially makes you wonder whats going on and where are the spiders.. But the relevance of his meeting with these beings comes into play later and then enters a companion in the form of spider..and from then on it becomes like the spiderworld books of old. The result i did enjoy reading this book and I hope he does write another book in the series... hopefully featuring more of the spiders though (particularly Dravig and the Captain).. Enjoy!

This series of books is really good with an unusual them - Spiders as large intelligent telekinetic creatures and such. Great series of books buy them for an enjoyable read.
