Polar have really upped their game on this album. Vocals a lot stronger and plenty of great riffs. Couple of the songs feel like fillers. Overall worth buying nice to see a British band producing good metal!

Lets not beat around the bush. If you are here you are probably a fan or Punk or Hardcore. Thankfully this is something that Polar do fantastically well.

Shadowed by vultures is their second full length LP and shows a clear evolution of their rather unique hardcore sound.

Shadowed By Vultures takes the band in a different direction, mixing in more melodic aspects musically and anthemic style gang vocals. It is rather reminiscent of 'In County' off their debut work Iron Lungs.

To me it demonstrates how they have grown as a band. Both in confidence and musically. While their EP (This Polar Noise) and Iron Lungs, both had an incredible frantic intensity and power, the hallmark of the UK Hardcore scene, this album is without doubt more mature and musically tight.

You will still have crushingly heavy guitars, but the song structure is more thought out and rounded. Stand out for me though is the development of Woody's vocals. A change of style and (in my mind) an improvement on his earlier work, he shows improved power and more variation in this one song then many hardcore vocalists do on an entire album. The opening of Glass Cutter, "Keeping true what we believe" grabs you by the throat and makes you listen, while the more catchy anthemic chorus's of will get stuck in your head. I do wonder after what has been a hectic last couple of years touring with some of the best of the UK alternative scene, how much these lads have been able to pick up on the road. Regardless, the development is staggering.

If you like your music loud. Buy this song, then pre-order the new album!

So Polars second album is here. The songwriting that has evolved since their debut Iron Lungs is incredible. The energy in the songs resonates from the speakers. The songs this time around are just as brutal but a lot more catchy with Woody taking a more guttural roar to the songs opposed to his previous screamier voice . Before you know it you'll be singing the tunes and not realise.
If you have seen Polar live you will know they are passionate guys and give there all during their shows. This translates on CD. Its rare a band pulls this off and i enjoy listening to this whilst working out. With Shadowed by Vultures this should hopefully catapult the band to greater heights and see them getting the attention bands like While She sleeps get.

To summarise.
Bigger
Better
Catchy and aggressive.
Great production.

..............Buy it, Love it and then talk about it.................
