Product Description

Product Description

From George Lucas, creator of Star Wars(r) and Indiana Jones, and Chris Claremont, author of the bestselling X-Men adventures, comes the thrilling sequel to Shadow Moon, taking readers deeper into a stunningly original world of magic, myth, and legend.

The momentous Ascension of Princess Elora Danan should have brought peace to the Thirteen Realms.  Instead, an intense Shadow War rages, spearheaded by the evil Mohdri.  He has dispatched his dread Black Rose commando assassins to capture Elora and her sworn protector, Thorn Drumheller.  But Mohdri himself is just a facade for a more dangerous entity: the Deceiver.  But who--or what--is the Deceiver?  And how can Elora, Thorn, and their ragtag band defeat this unspeakable force?  The answer lies in a perilous journey to a land undisturbed since the dawn of time.  A journey that will end at the unbreachable citadel of the dragon, where a chilling betrayal will change the fate of Elora, Thorn, and the Thirteen Realms forever.

This trilogy (Shadow Moon, Shadow Dawn and Shadow Star) really does shine as yet another example of what can happen when a trilogy is written based on a succesful Gearge Lucas film. Following on from the "and they all lived happily ever after" ending of the film the books quite wonderfully shatter that myth by starting with a semi-Apocalypse and continuing with Willow once again being dragged away from his family (and this time he's in for the long haul), as once again he must save Elora Danann, if only from herself, for the Princess of the prophecies has grown up to be a spoilt brat with an inflated sense of her own importance.

This book was a little slow to start as the character analysis draged on for about half the book but once you pass the mid point the adventure really takes off. The imagry and description of fantasy creatures and magic was very good. I can't wait for the next one.

I enjoyed the first book of this series but found it difficult to get into at the beginning but this book I had no problems getting into. The only disappointing thing I found is having to wait so long for the next book.
