This is a little known gem of a movie.Charlie Sheen
stars as Bobby Bishop, trusted advisor to the president.
He stumbles across what may be a shadow government
within the government. He becomes a hunted man along
with his ex girl friend and reporter Amanda Givens, played by Linda
Hamilton.Both give very believable performances.
Donald Sutherland as Jacob Conrad,Chief of Staff
is as expected superb.
While on the run after being shot at and seeing a good
friend shot down in the streets Bishop turns to good
friend Conrad to help bring him in.When he gets to the
predetermined spot for the pick up,again he and others
are shot at.
Bishop then turns to his ex girl friend Givens for help
because she had written a piece a year previously about
a shadow government. They both end up on the run.
Every where they go,dead bodies follow, which begins to
make Bishop look like he's on a killing spree.
Can't say more because it would give away too much.
Look for cameo appearances by Theodore Bikel,Gore Vidal
and Ben Gazarra.
What is really strange about this movie is the fact that
it is about the US government, set in the US,and played
by US actors. And yet it hasn't been released on dvd in the States. One wonders if perhaps their may be some truth
to the idea of a shadow government. That should satisfy
