Product Description

During his expedition to find the lost priests of Morcyth, James learned in part what he was brought to this world to do. But to accomplish what needs to be done, the City of Light must again be free of the Empire. In order for that to happen, however, he must devise a campaign through which that can be made a reality.

Once the spring thaw begins, and the passes are once more clear, he leads all but a few from The Ranch over the mountains into Madoc. Beginning at Lythylla, the capitol of Madoc, he sets into motion events which he believes will drive the Empire from Madoc's soil.

A friend's past brings unexpected allies and James stumbles upon a dark secret buried deep beneath the ground for centuries. A secret better left alone.

Another gripping read. As the characters evolve, so the story goes from strength to strength. A must read for fans of this story.

easy read 26 Nov 2010

i downloaded the first book of the series as a free book for my kindle. I found it interesting enough to purchase the entire series. Is the book/series predictable? Yes. It is an easy to read, is to pick up book. If you need more fantasy/sci-fi or more intellect stimulation don't buy the book or the series and get Tolkien instead. But if you like book that is easy and where you don't have to think about the plot etc, get it, and read it. Follow the characters.....

WAR!!!!! 23 Feb 2007
By Kevin Davenport - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
James goes to war. That's right, here in the sixth book, he gets to kick a little Empire butt. Early in the book he heads over to Madoc and with those he's gathered to him, sets out to cause sufficient damage to the Empire's forces to enable Madoc's army to push them completely out.

This isn't a head on, army versus army type of battles. No. It's more of a guerilla campaign. James and his bunch push deep behind the lines and play merry hell with the Empire's supply line and engage the reinforcements heading up to the front.

The Empire's mages play a major role in this book. Previously, all we've seen of them was when James came up against them in battle. But here, we see into the School of the Arcane and learn more about what makes them tick.

Battle after battle, they push their way deeper into Madoc until finally entering the Empire itself. By this time, forces are being diverted from the front and other places to squash them.

Be prepared for some sleepless nights for when the action starts, it can last for chapters. James also has come up with a few new tricks which are quite ingenious. His 'seeds' were a stroke of genius and worked out quite well.

Of course, there's a climactic battle at the end of the book with magic flying and swords striking. Completely incredible. One of the better battles I've read to tell you the truth. The ending of the battle wasn't what I expected and I won't say any more. don't want to spoil it for you.

For me, this was the best of the series.

I trully enjoyed these charterters. The repeat of the words for the fight scens and the continous caution to be careful need to be addressed by the author.Don no stop writing just expand your ability. Fun until the very end.
