Ian Woodhead is an author better known for his short stories, short scary shots of horror. 'Shades of Green' is a much bigger shot! This novel is an absolute must for any horror reader. I'll admit it's very different to anything I've read, but echoes of King & Lovecraft come through strong.
This well-written tale encompasses horror, revulsion, evil shrubbery (yes, you read it right!), people & pets turned monsters &, thankfully, survivours. We are thrown head-first into the town of Holburn, or rather the ancient woods of Holburn &, mouth-agape, delve into the secrets they hold.
No spoilers in this review because this work needs to be read with a fresh, open mind.....one that's ready to be shocked & left terrified & slighty grossed-out!
So take a wander through 'Shades of Green' & discover a whole new perspective on greenery....I promise you won't be dissappointed!
