I love the book, it is very accurate, intelligent and fun. As stated below, check your Venus sign if you are a girl and you'll find that this description may be quite true for you. As for men, need to know your Mars sign. Taking this approach, deep inside, I am a Taurus woman but to the people around me I look the part of a typical Aries gal, the sign that rules my Venus.
Also, I've got my third house in Leo and this representing (my) mentality, made the Leo sun sign read somewhat resembling of me as well. Interestingly, I have Cancer rising and the description did not sound anything like me. Message: look a bit deeper into your chart - what is your ruler, what is your most significant planet (mine is my very prominent tenth house Aries Venus that drives my career and totally rocks my world), in what house is this planet and you will find this book a total gem!
The book's preface states its intentions and position clearly so don't think it's fair to criticize on the basis of Sextrology's sampling of 12 signs only. That is what this book is - a fresh take on sun sign astrology. It is also meant to be a book about sex AND the sexes. As such, it successfully delves into the motivations of all the irrational things that people we know tend to do, often to our disbelief. For example, I dated a smart and successful Capricorn once who preferred sappy innocent types, whereas I am a typical A-type and a very driven former valedictorian. Well, this book has a paragraph that aims to explain exactly why he went for the flower girls!
I also thought that, by reading about psychologies of different men and women, you do take away something about sex and intimacy as the book clearly relates the two.
If, however, you'd like a more complex insight into the field of Astrology, you will need to get into the significance of planets, houses, aspects, and their relationships.
