Product Description

Product Description

Legendary venture capitalist, Tom Perkins pens a charming, slyly wicked tale of love among the fabulously rich and the sexy young things who aspire to marry them! The story is set around a reality TV show.

About the Author

Tom Perkins is only a mega-millionaire, but years of counseling and therapy have allowed him to face his friends who actually are zillionaires. When Perkins received a letter inviting him to star in a new reality show with beautiful, eager young women competing to win his affection-and his hand in marriage-he thought it was joke. Although Perkins wasn't interested, it did strike him as a wonderful premise for a novel. Perkins lives in the San Francisco Bay area and has a medieval manor house, complete with a moat, in East Sussex, England.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reality TV in Book Form!, 6 Jan 2006
By A Customer
The two main characters, Steven and Jessica are brought together through the tv medium of reality tv.

Steven, a 60+ widow receives an intriguing letter offering him the chance to be part of a reality tv show where he will date a number of young ladies, selecting and rejecting them until he meets the future Mrs Steven Hudson.

At first he is against the whole idea, but his children, staff and colleagues give him an alternative view of his life since he was widowed, and he makes the phone call, entering him into a whole new world!

Jessica is the producer of the show. She desperately wants the formula to succeed, and enlists the assistance of a UK reality TV guy to help achieve this.

Steven has family issues running parallel with the TV programme, Jessica too has family issues.

The bevy of beauties are really superfluous to the bubbling romance of the two main characters.

Enjoyed the book, but felt that the answers were revealed too easily.

Would recommend if you are looking for a lighthearted read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing & Revisits Old Steretoypes, 19 Jan 2008

I'm always delighted to find a book that includes a character with autism. If that character has any special talent or ability, then more often than not that character is written as a cookie-cutter formulaic savant. To make matters worse, sooner or later others in the story compare the character to R*** M**, the title role Dustin Hoffman played in a 1988 movie. Most people with autism with or without savant abilities are NOTHING like that cliche character and R** M*** is a highly offensive slur in the autism world. I am sick and tired of savant stereotypes, especially since savantism affects less than 10% of the autistic population!
