The format is great and the information really well set out and very readable. My criticism is that it goes all the way. I wanted to buy it for a 13 year old son and the first few chapters would have been brilliant - all about puberty, growth, fantasies, relationships etc. But it goes on - sex, contraceptives, abortion, giving birth and what to do with your unwanted baby. I wanted a book to help him see his confused feelings were a normal part of growing up. But I don't really want him thinking that watching your teenage partner give birth is also a normal part of growing up and he'd better get his head round that, too! I suspect if your child were unfortunate enough to be in that situation, then the front end of the book, with hints on voices dropping and crushes on teachers, would be equally redundant. My advice to the publishers would be to split it into 2 or 3 parts.

I bought this for my 10 year old son as it was recommended to me by a friend who has it for her 10 year old daughter. Its brilliant. It sets things out really simply and in a fun relevant way for the kids and makes it interesting to read.

very informative and easy for kids to understand and relate to. The book covers all aspects of puberty and encourages dialogue between parents and children.
