When I first saw The Sex Pistols performing Pretty Vacant on Top of the Pops as a teenager, I was blown away. Sadly, although I got to see lots of punk bands live, The Pistols short existence meant I never got to see them in the flesh. Jim McCarthy's graphic novel, read all these years later, brought back accurately a lot of the buzz I first felt back in 1976. He seems to write as someone who was in and around the scene at the time. I fully recommend reading it with 'Never Mind the Bollocks' on in the background. Loud.
