4.0 out of 5 stars chaise lounge ahoy 9 Nov 2007
Format:Paperback
Aphrodisia specialise in erotica so if you're not looking for hot sex with your romance then look elsewhere.

Having said that, The Sex Lounge is not one of their steamier publications. The sex is there it just doesn't take the spotlight. Not that that is anything to complain about. Certainly here it's appreciated as the main characters are so likeable.

Nichole is a secretary for a PR company, Derek a furniture designer who elists their services. She writes her sexual fantasies in a notebook, though never acts on them. The notebook falls into the hands of the man who stars in the majority of her writings. As a consummate scoundrel he refuses to give her the book back until they put her words into action. Nichole doesn't so much as pretend to protest. They begin an affair, there are a few obstacles thrown in by supplementary characters and Derek's fear of commitment. Nichole has her work cut out for her and puts in a valiant effort in the hopes of changing her born-to-be-free hero.

A thoroughly enjoyable read from Rachelle Chase, I look forward to her next offering.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not enough sizzle for this Sex Lounge. (D- Grade) 25 April 2007
By Katie Babs - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The title "Sex Lounge" is a play on words. Our hero Derek is a rich chaise designer. He is beyond handsome yet so cold as our heroine Nichole tells him. Derek has stolen her notebook of naughty sex fantasies in which he is the star. (She brought it to work with her... hmm) He is willing to act them out with her along with the fact he doesn't trust her and thinks she maybe behind someone stealing from him.
One would think that this book would be sizzling and so erotic you would need your own notebook to fan yourself. Well even though these certain scenes try to be inventive, they are very much ordinary and boring due to the fact that the hero and heroine are so unemotionally detached.
We are lead to believe Derek is so damaged emotionally that all he can offer a woman is mind blowing sex. As always with these types of characters, one set of parents are to blame. The whole thing is very tedious.
Nichole is the same way. She works for a model talent agency and feels below par afraid she will turn out to be like her mother. All she thinks about is sex with Derek. There is so much talking and internal dialogue going on that when it comes to the actual action, it is just too blah.
Overall the book needs a better editor. Days of the week become confused along with changing of clothes that normally could not happen.
Perhaps the too little number of pages is to blame along with this being a novice author.
For more mind blowing out of this world fantasies look elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome 31 July 2012

I've been looking for this book for years but every time I would order it, it would no longer be in stock. I was finally able to own it & it was wonderful. It made me take a trip down memory lane to think about a guy I had a crush on but my fantasies weren't nearly as erotic.
