This is the story of a woman seeking revenge for the people who ordered the murder of her father; a policeman. She witnessed the murder as a child. There is much sword-play and blood, in true Japanese style, with her nakedness adding an interesting dimension to the proceedings. There is one scene that will excite some and offend others, concerning nuns, a cross and a whip. If you like such empty-headed entertainment (and sometimes I do), then this is a film to enjoy!

this is a masterpiece on whatever regarding about the 70s japanese sexploitation movies!!! If you like erotic scenes, internacional intrigue, lots of killings, japanese tradition and their sword sports, then this movie fits in your tastes!!! the photography is well mastered, great plot, there is a balance between erotic sex and violent martial art with blood mixed on it!!! this movie deserves to be a reference, even this movie have influenced the tarantino kill bill's movies!!!

Lots of proto girl power, movers and shakers, all set at the beginning of the 20th Century. Some intrusion of reality also invades the script, as it is set around the time both Britain and the USA were manipulating the South East Asian world, along with the growth of the various "trading" companies. Everything is based on intrigue and conspiracy, as the Europeans/Americans build their trade on other peoples dead bodies.
Ichio sets out to revenge the boar, the deer and the butterfly, for her father's murder. During her travails she becomes involved with Japanese anarchists who receive a sympathetic portrayal, as she slashes her way through blood, guts and nudity.
A wah wah soundtrack, cuts a groove and churns out the moves to a group of weird arrangements, as the 1970s slide back into the 1920's. Although this has more of a story than "female yakuza," it suffers more for it. "Female Yakuza" is more out there, this is a much more straight rendition, albeit with some scenic shots of Jesus's folk getting down, dirty and beaten, replicating his suffering. This has structure, and less chaos than the second film. It appears stilted in comparison, and loses a star because it is "straight," even though it has some of the first woman on woman mainstream love moments of inter racial fondling. This appears both sensual and gratuitous.
So its worth the investment in time, but don't expect to wow wowed.
