This one arrived this morning and I've had my nose in it most of my free time since. It is full of excellent technical advice, very clear instructions, wonderful examples, and the pictures are very good. This is NOT one for the beginner: you don't necessarily need a lot of experience with outdoor fabrics or fleece, but a little helps. This book is aimed at the experienced sewing person with a real need for proper outdoor clothing for mountaineering, skiing, and similar activities. It contains some of the design features you find on the most expensive shop bought equipment. Well worth the money!

Finding a guide creating outdoor, functional clothing is not an easy task. This seems to be the only one around. Fortunately this is a clear guide with helpful illustrations. I decided to specialise in outdoor clothing for my final collection in my degree in fashion design and this book was invaluable. It contains both practical advice and more specific instructions on altering patterns and creating practical cuffs and pockets.
This is really for those who are already sewing and altering clothes proficently but there is nothing exclusive about this book and everything is clearly explained
