I bought this for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas to accompany her sewing machine and it is brilliant. It has lots of fun activities and ideas and she has thoroughly enjoyed working through it. It also has lots of information for sewing without a machine.

Good sewing exercises 1 Sept. 2007
By Kathryn Otto - Published on
Format: Spiral-bound
This book has great exercises for kids to hone their sewing awareness and machine skills. One was visually finding quarter inch thicknesses. I thought the projects in the first book were more fun, but it is definitely on a child's level which is hard to find for beginning sewing. The illustrations are colorful and definitely target kids.

Great Book, fun projects, educational 9 Feb. 2008
By K. Foster - Published on
Format: Spiral-bound
This book is just as fantastic as everyone says it is. I especially like the pictures and descriptions of sewing notions. I didn't even know what some of the stuff was until I read the descriptions, and I have been sewing for years! Fun to learn with my daughter, and my son is getting interested, too!

Instill a love fo sewing in the next generation! 30 Aug. 2013
By Lorene - Published on
Format: Spiral-bound Verified Purchase
My quilt guild recently started a Jr. group to introduce our grandchildren or nieces and nephews to sewing. I use this and the first book by the same author to provide mazes, puzzles and patterns for our get-togethers. The kids love them. The craft ideas are perfect for beginning sewers.
