Not sure why I'm being asked how much fun this toy is, as it's not a toy!!! A vanishing marker pen I bought to use for marking quilting lines on light coloured fabric. It worked quite well although it behaved a little like a "nearly-out-of-ink-felt-tip" while drawing with it and the line vanished rather too quickly... I needed to go over lines several times as, frequently, when I started to sew a short length (say, along a 4" line I'd just marked), the far end of the line had almost vanished before I reached it! Having said that, it was a useful tool, the line more accurate than can be obtained with a chalk pencil (which blunts quickly and inevitably gives a wider line) and I would use it again. It showed well against white fabric, less well against blue patterned fabric; you'd need a different, light colour for use on darker fabrics.

This was SUCH a disappointment! I bought this pen because it sounded ideal for drawing out my quilting design on my quilt to then trace over with my free motion quilting. I was really excited to get it and the fact that it faded in 48 hours sounded perfect so I wouldn't have to faff too much with washing the quilt I was making for my cousin's new babe. Imagine my disappointment when I went to try it out on a scrap piece of fabric and watched it fade and disappear in literally a matter of SECONDS!!!! I tried it several times, I tried giving it a little bit of a shake to get the ink mixed a bit and that just resulted in blotches. So I wasted £3+ (which I kind of thought was a bit pricey for a pen but it sounded great!) and it is a load of RUBBISH!!!

I use vanishing ink pens a lot for marking out felt. The nib on these pens is very fine indeed, and therefore probably excellent for use on fabrics such as cotton, linen, canvas, etc. However this particular pen does not work well on felt because it lifts the surface fibres and therefore does not draw a clean, clear line.

As a complete newbie to sewing, I found that the ink was disappearing before I got the garment under the sewing machine. Other than that I am totally happy with the function of the pen and I would recommend this one.

Pen arrived on time. I must say I do like it especially because it disappears as I usually use a pencil. It's fiddly on felt so trial and error for which material it's best on.

Arrived within the stated time and was well packaged. The pen has worked well so far. I think it depends on the fabric you are wanting to use it on and the length of time you want it to last. It says on the packaging it varies from fabric to fabric. But I have not had a problem with good quality cotton fabrics. But it does fade quite quickly.

Useless - I couldn't get it to work and have thrown it away. The pen wouldn't draw and I couldn't see it on the material.I think it may have been dried up.
