An Innovative Keyboard Player, 23 Mar 1999

This disk is amazing when you consider that Mr. Livgren plays everything you hear. If you are a Keyboard player, this is a must buy. The reason is that you will find a unique fusion of classical and rock elements. Kerry can play a screaming guitar also. The tech is old but the sound holds up fine. These disks will get hard to find so jump on this one. Again Keyboard players will be amazed how he blends synth , acoustic, and electric. Desi

Livgren's best solo album., 24 Aug 1999

I truly think this is Kerry's best solo effort so far. Great playing, and brilliant compositions, all of them. That special classical touch we all know and love so much, is there a-plenty. In my opinion there were two major problems with his old solo-band "A.D."; weak songs, and weak singers. Way below norm, for someone like mr. Livgren. He ought to work more often with David Pack, whom he apparently admires so much. -So why doesn't he ?. Never mind, that's not an issue on an instrumental album, ofcourse. If there's a minus with this outing, it's that some of the tunes are too short. But even that can't spoil the enjoyment.

One of Kerry Livgren,s Possible Bests, 15 Nov 2009

I first heard this album just after it was released in 1989 on casstte tape not long after graduating from a strict Baptist Bible college.Despite my rejection of a great deal of rock'n'roll,I was amazed at the instrumental imagery and talent of this album.I had listened extensively to the band Kansas when they first emerged into the rock arena in 1975,prior to becoming a Christian & still enjoyed their messages in song in the rock genre even after becoming a Christian. The testimony that the band was anti-drug and the fact that all were very devoted, serious musicians had a strong impact on me.I also have played guitar for over 43 years.I cannot classify this album as strictly rock'n'roll. Art/progressive rock would probably be more appropriate with classical influences thrown in.Livgren keeps it all very interesting with all the changes from theme to theme. The fact that he plays all the instrumentation, did almost all the recording and production, and all the writing is a very encouraging as well as inspiring for any musician.I love both his guitar playing and keyboard playing but also the different sound images he creates by not sticking to the usual rock influences. This is a must have album for any aspiring musician of today.I had looked for this CD version to be released for a long time and finally obtained it.In 1989 it changed my entire view about rock music in relation to my faith,in that God is THE CREATOR and inspires creation in all of humanity. It changed the direction of my own writing and playing.
