Product Description

"He's watching me with wide eyes; I know he felt it too.... The vampire fills me with warmth but the Wek makes my soul flutter."

(Book 2 of the Parched novel series)

Zillael hates high school and the tiny one horse town she lives in. She has no friends and no social life, both by choice. All of that changes the afternoon the fog rolls in and she soon finds herself face to face with three parched vampires.

She soon comes to realize that her boring, small town life is not what it seems and finds herself falling in love with two very different supernatural creatures. But on the day the fog rolls back into town, she finds herself on the verge of discovering who and what she truly is.

If this is the first book you've read in the Parched novel series, then the next book to read after finishing this one is Parched (book 1).

Reading the reviews for this book I was expecting it to be quite good. How wrong was I...
I could only bare reading up the Chapter 3 as the quality of the writing was amateur, which was a shame as the storyline itself wasn't bad. I myself could have done a better job. Everything happened too fast which left you lost, wondering what on Earth was going on. Furthermore the main character seems to experience these odd occurences without blinking an eye.
It was all very bewildering and frustrating and I definately wouldn't recommend this book. The 2 stars are, in my opinion, generous.

This is written in a fresh bouncy YA way and I enjoyed it. Zillael (prob. spelt that wrong)is the type of older teen that always seems to be in detention, due to her attitude. She hates the small town she lives in, the people around her, the fact her mom is never around and of course the way everyone stares at her because she is a beauty. During a detention stint in which she has to serve punch to fellow classmates, she is attacked by vampire like beings and that is when she finds out that not only are some people around her not entirely human, but neither is she. The only thing that bothered me about the storyline is that it took me a while to figure out her age, because in the beginning she appears to be much younger (based on reactions in class and classmates) and it wasn't until the author mentioned a car she drove on occasion, that I realised she must be over 16. The scenes with the young male vamp in her bedroom are a bit racy (only a tidge, so I would recommend that the reader be over a certain age). THe book ends in a way that interestingly enough you have to read the first book to understand where and who Zill actually is. I recommend that readers of supernatural/para fantasy give this author a go.The Seventh Sister (Parched, book two)

My mum got me a Kindle for Christmas, and this was the second book I downloaded - because it was free, really. I read it, not expecting much, and to my surprise, it was a fab book! What let me down, though, was all the typos. All together I noted 11 errors; that really let me down. The main character, Zillael, is obviously one of those girls who doesn't know that they're beautiful and all the boys fancy her. I find this only slightly believeable. Wheras Derek, the 'Wek' who loves Zillael, is totally UNbelieveable. He is just too good to be true.
That is why I am giving this book 4 stars.

Aimed at my age group but found it very simplistic
This book bored me to tears and left me wanting to bang my head off a wall. At points I found myself wondering if anyone else had lost the will to live whilst reading this... Read more

The Seventh Sister
Paranormal romance, probably more suited to a teenage reading audience. Easy reading, reasonable plot just a bit juvenile. Down loaded for free.

Interesting, but . . .
Quite an interesting and imaginative story, but without that extra zing that makes the characters live. The story is told from the viewpoint of a teenager. Read more
