Sevenhills Cacao powder is farmed organically in Peru, where it grows in tropical conditions. It is made from Criollo cacao nibs, considered the premium cacao bean only 5% of the worlds cacao beans fall into this category. The nibs are cold-pressed, the oil is then separated leaving a dry cacao which is cold-ground, fine-milled and sifted. The end product is a Cacao powder with all the minerals, enzymes and nutrients still intact.
Oxidation is a destabilising chemical reaction that scavenges electrons from a substance. In the human body this can create molecules known as free radicals, which can themselves trigger chain reactions capable of damaging or killing cells. Oxidative stress, as this is called, is believed increasingly by medical science to be at the root of many diseases. Our exposure to pollutants and environmental stresses is believed to increase the likelihood of oxidative stress damage, which is why nutritionists are convinced that we should fight back by eating foods known to be rich sources of antioxidant agents. One of the best of these is Cacao.
Cacao powder should be regarded more as a food ingredient than a dietary supplement. A small amount 5 - 20g can also be sprinkled on top of breakfast cereals and porridge, desserts or ice cream. Why buy from Sevenhills Organics?

I'm surprised that the powder isn't darker - it looks like milk chocolate - but it has a lovely flavour. I've read that Criollo is the best there is.Published 9 days ago by C. R. Tresadern
Best Cacao I have tried. Blends beautifully into a smoothie. Or mix a teaspoon into porridge. Does not clump together, is a lovely colour and it is not bitter to taste.Published 12 days ago by anonymous
