The biscuit ration requires no preparation and may be eaten directly from the box. Each 500g gives 10,300 kJ or 2,500 kcal and contains the highest possible ratio of balanced nutrition compared to volume. Seven OceanS Ration is compressed into tablets of approx. 27.8g. these rations can be used as a trusted source of concentrated energy ration in any given emergency situation, whether it is as part of a grab-on bag, at home, sea or even serve as in a leisure trip. Its long shelf life reduces significantly the frequency needed in supply rotation adjustments. Each package of SOS (500 g net) contains 18 tablets packed in 9 bars with grease-proof paper. Wrapping: The wrapping is great and perfect to protect the biscuits from the elements. First is the cardboard box, next is the silver wrapping, next clear plastic wrapping, and finally each of the biscuits is individually wrapped in paper. Very well done.

Taste: They taste a bit like bland Scottish shortbread, so not a bad taste at all.

Value: Excellent value for money. You can split each "bar" into two small squares to limit yourself or share if needed.

In a nutshell, a very good buy! Handy for anything from mountain treks, sailing expeditions, fishing, or just driving a long distance.

One of those thing you hope won't be needed, but is good to have. The box takes up little space and just means if I get snowed in etc, there is an extra 3 days of food in the house.
They taste OK, quite nice actually. As said in the other review, kinda like shortbread.
They do kind of fall apart as you open them. So you get more, a handful of "broken biscuits", than a bar.
Good product though.

I always prepare for the unexpected and this item is an essential in anyone's kitbag, backpack, car boot, house etc. if you want extra security in an emergency situation.

Small enough to pack in my backpack so if I get stranded 'out there' (which has happened once, but Mountain Rescue sorted that one!) I have enough nourishment to sustain me until I find my way out or those great guys come rescue me. Seriously though, I fail to see how anyone would not want a pack of these in the boot of their car at the very least. How many got stranded on motorways a few years back over the winter of snow? (twice!) how many found their food cupboards running a bit bare when they couldn't get out to the shops?

I have bought this first pack for the boot of my car. Makes me feel safer! I'm going to go buy a second for my backpack. There is me and him indoors to feed, either indoors or outdoors in an emergency, this emergency food ration pack is everything I hoped for and more.

Fantastic delivery speed by the seller, arrived in perfect condition, well packed. Excellent service, I highly recommend! Affordable, taste good, essential, get yours! You just never know what is around the corner with our weather and economy at the moment do you. Be prepared :)

One never knows when the balloon is going to go up. According to the Daily Mail, we can expect an invasion by homosexual Muslim Communist asylum seekers any day now, while the trusty old Daily Express is confidently predicting imminent climatic disaster in the form of monsoon rain and scorching drought caused by the constant meddling of faceless Brussels commissars. Determined not to be caught out, Mrs Daz and I have prepared our own disaster stockpile of necessities, including a few dozen boxes of these excellent survival biscuits. One can never be too prepared.

Tastes a lot better than i expected, its like a wheat, malt and soy biscuit, a bit too sweet for my taste, but great not just for emergency.
Actually 2 tablets made me full and they have equivalent energy to a lunch, so its perfect and very compact plus they have vitamins and iron too.
I bought it to test them if they are good for my bug-out emergency bag and i have to say they are perfect for it, will surely buy more, never know when you need them.

there is a saying: Better have it and don't need it, than need it and not have it.
Highly recommended emergency food, quality made in Norway.

You should not eat more than 6 tablets (there are 2 tablets per inner pack, total of 9 inners)
the 6 tablets (3 inner packs) have 834 calories, that may be enough when sitting at home or on a boat, but not when being on move on foot or for wilderness survival, coz in these situation you will need a lot more energy than that.

Purchased for storage in the boot. With all the recent weather warnings etc it seemed like a good idea to keep something edible in the car. They take up very little space and are there to possibly save lives if the worst should happen. Product description on Amazon states that they have a five year shelf life from the date of production, and at least four and a half years shelf life when shipped from the suppliers. The items I received were all made Jan 2013, so all have the maximum five year shelf life. I suspect if you were to purchase these within the next few months, then they would all be made Jan 2013- just a guess though. The date of production and best before date is clearly marked on all boxes.
