I love all kinds of movies and watch everything from dramas to horror movies. But sometimes the overload of the Hollywood language and gore machine just gets old. That's why it's so pleasant and refreashing to happen upon just a really good, feel good, poinant movie like Utopia. I literally stumbled across this movie as I was searching the theater's local listings. I don't think they advertised a lot, and that's a shame because I think a lot of people are going to miss this hidden gem.
Utopia does have a Christian themed message, but it's not the "beat you over the head" kind. It's really just a good life-lesson that would apply to anyone anywhere, regardless of religion.
Add Utopia to the list of movies (Remember the Titans, Secritariat, The Blind Side) that prove you can have a well done, enjoyable movie without all the typical Hollywood violence and language.
