Well written easy to follow. Tells not only what you can do, but when it would be best to consult a professional. Even when a professional is recommended, he gives clear instructions for anyone who insists on doing every aspect of the job unassisted. Also includes a good reference guide. I really enjoyed this book. I found it to be a comprehensive introduction to tile setting. A couple of times I found that I had to re-read a few passages but I am happy to say that the problem was more in me than it was in the author's lack of ability to clearly express himself. Unfortunately due to the book being based on work done in North America the list of Trade suppliers at the back of the book is next to useless for us here in the UK.

Of course the passage of time since the book was first published has resulted in new products being introduced, none of which could therefore have been mentioned in the book, but that does not diminish the quality of the book.

As the title of my review states this book has one main fault and that is all the measurements are in imperial sizes. I think the book would have been better if it considered the new metric dimensions that we in the building trade are now used to in Europe. Apart from that i have found this book to be informative and i would recommend it if only if the dimensions were more up to date with the current times.
