I found this book to be a well researched, detailed and analytical guide to setting up a business. Starting at a very basic, common sense level, the book provides a step by step procedure from the initial germ of an idea about becoming self employed through to the practicalities of each stage, the setting up of the enterprise and finally the maintaining of a successful therapy business.
This book is an excellent `must have' guide for anyone with little or no business experience. It is also a useful checklist for those with more experience, who may only need to skim through the first few chapters, to ensure all bases have been covered.
In a thought provoking way, the book encourages the reader to understand the workings of the therapy market and to know their own place in that market - a vital requirement if the business is to flourish. It is easy to read and understand and offers a contemporary list of resources and website links to provide further support. As well as `holding your hand' through each phase of development, the author also offers the chance of individual support for those with particular issues by providing contact details and promising a response with personalised advice.
Although this book is specifically directed at those setting up a therapy business, many of the steps are transferable using a language and ideas common to all other self employed businesses.
As a woman leading my own successful business I can confirm that the advice given in this guide is sound and invaluable. I highly recommend it to anyone currently in the process of setting up their own business and those still in the contemplation stage.
