My daughter absolutely loves this DVD and at 23 months she now just as obsessed with Sesame Street as I was at 10! We watch it almost daily and the fact that it's from the 70s doesn't distract from the learning. The best thing as a parent is that fun you can have at comparing childhood in the 70s with nowadays and it's always fun to point out what you can't do now due to health and safety risks - look out for the children playing with old pieces of metal and the playground with no padding on the ground! I would recommend this DVD over and over - and I have!

Old School Sesame Street Vol. 2 is a great purchase if you grew up with the show. These were really some of the best years of the show where it was really hitting its stride. The disks contain around 5 complete episodes and a series of highlights from other shows also. You only wish they could issue more episodes from these years as only 5 episodes leaves you wanting more. There are however some great numbers from Bob, Luis, and all the muppets of course. Best of all, it's an elmo-free zone and Mr. Hopper isn't dead yet!

Purchased Vols 1 and 2 of the old school which covers 1969-1974 and 1974-1979. The educational aspects of the episodes are more engaging that the newer Semsame Street productions. They focus almost exclusively on practical concepts, numbers, letters and spacial arrangements with humor rather than folding in death, divorce and other odd (and not necessarily normal for a young child and possibly even inappropriate) concepts in newer Sesame Street. They are also extremely joyful and optimistic. If Sesame Street would produce proper and complete early season box sets - rather than just the 5 premier episodes with bonus material, we would certainly buy it. The Workshop should utilise their archives to release complete season sets; they would make a fortune. Without having complete episode sets, Vols 1 and 2 will have to do - they are fantastic.
