Book Description

30 Dec 2008
Court Appointed Jackson knows he needs protection from a stalker, but the last thing he wants is to want his bodyguard. After receiving several suspicious “gifts”, His Honor Jackson Benedict is assigned an agent for protection. He’d be fine with a bodyguard…if he was anyone but the man who enters his courtroom looking hotter than any man has a right to look. Thank God Jackson’s robe hides his interest. Trey London is more than happy that Jackson has practically been handed to him on a silver platter. If his job requires he stay close to one of the country’s youngest federal judges, it’s no skin off his back. The closer the better, actually. But someone else is getting closer, too, and when the gifts turn into attacks, Trey is forced to trade his status of new lover for that of protector. He’s not about to let anyone come between him and his judge. Warning, this title contains the following: explicit, nekkid, sometimes robed, m/m judge on bodyguard sex, and graphic language. For Love and Country Love? Or duty? His choice will damn his country—or his heart. Vampire Basile Gagnon wants nothing more than to put the United States, its war, and the heartbreak he found on its shores far behind him. He has suffered the loss of one too many mortal lovers, and refuses to risk his heart again, not even for Emil, the mortal he turned away five years ago. When Union soldier Emil Franks steps aboard Basile’s ship, his mission is to try to convince Basile to lend his vessel to the Union cause. But with one look at his former lover, he reveals far more—his lingering love for Basile. Neither time nor the fires of war have dimmed their passion for each other, but not even the fact that Emil is now a vampire can sway Basile from his course. In two days’ time, he leaves for his native France. On this war-torn Valentine’s Day, Emil must choose: Love? Or country? Warning, this title contains the following: graphic language, and hot nekkid man-love. Hot Ticket Love’s the last thing you expect to find in the trash. Elliot Graham doesn’t make mistakes. So when he ends up serving community service at a recycling plant for inadvertently buying stolen property, he’s certain it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to him. That is, until he finds tickets to a sold-out concert in the trash, tickets that immediately disappear into the pocket of the hottest—and most exasperating—guy he’s ever met. Cade McKuen has never been one to follow society’s expectations. That’s why he’s serving time sorting trash for destroying his cheating ex-lover’s car rather than apologize. Finding those tickets is an unexpected bonus to an otherwise smelly sentence. But when cute, sputtering Elliot claims a share, Cade decides community service might be the best thing that’s happened to him all year. Cade is determined to keep Elliot off balance and tap into the passion he senses is hidden under that buttoned-down exterior. Elliot is fascinated by Cade’s outrageous way of thumbing his nose at the world. Opposites attract, but can passion be the ticket to something lasting? Warning, this title contains the following: explicit male/male sex, graphic language.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well written and a bit of a surprise... 1 Mar 2010
So this is a book of three novellas all based around romantic relationships between strong male characters. The first is an erotically charged fast paced story about a judge from a traditional conservative family and the ever charasmatic alpha male agent assigned to protect him when he is threatened; the last is a quirky story about a straight (ha!) laced young guy finding his romantic feet with someone his complete opposite and the middle one is about sailor vampires... (ah well 2 out 3 in a compilation isn't bad!)

Ok - here's the deal - I bought this book by accident without seeing the cover or reading the blurb. So I admit it came as a bit of a surprise that it was male male relationships... but I'm a devout reader and have never ever turned down a book without at least trying it...so how glad am I that the novellas were in the order they're in! If I'd started with the vampire sailor one I think I might have broken my cardinal rule and put this book down without giving it a fair shot - and I would have lost out as a result. The other two stories are well written, laced with humour and really appealingly romantic (I actually found myself being more moved by the romance and turning into such a weepy girl than in straight romances I've read). So in short if you are looking for a well written same sex romance or if you're a chick for whom stories about beautiful boys meeting other beautiful boys appeals, then this is for you and well worth a read. If you're looking for stories about vampire gay sailors from the 19th century then you're just weird.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! Except for the 2nd Story... 8 Nov 2010

4.5 is the rating I'm giving this book. Only because, like the previous reviewer, I couldn't quite see the point of 'For Love & Country', the second story about a Vampire sailor. Didn't quite make sense to me. I'd have bought it for 'Court Appointed' and 'Hot Ticket' alone. Very very hot.

There's no point in reviewing this book again, as the previous reviewer has done a sterling job. The two stories I loved really worked for me. I've read Anne Marie McKenna before but I didn't know she wrote gay erotica. A great story. I'd never heard of Mary Winter but I'll definitely look out for her.

If you love gay love, you'll love this very hot, sexy book - well, the first and last stories anyway...

5.0 out of 5 stars great all the way around 16 April 2009

I loved all three stories. I also liked how the three stories portrayed the relationships.
The first story is about two men have wanted each other for some time, but until the judge gets interesting "gifts."
They both loved each other, but after a longtime lover dies one is not ready to love and lose again so they split up. Five years pass and their circumstances have changed, will it make a difference?
Community service brings outward appearances opposites together. Past relationships has them both second guessing every step.
