In the year 2000, the Serpentine Gallery in London's Hyde Park invited the world's leading innovative architects to create a pavilion that represented the ethos of their work. Each year the pavilion is created by a different architect. The 2005 pavilion, created by Portuguese architects Alvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura, is explored here in detail, with photographs, preliminary sketches, essays and commentary outlining the creation of another extraordinary space.
