Product Description

Book Description

A well-liked, respected, caring pillar of the community - or an outsider, socially inept and with a frightening appearance? Wearing many different masks, serial killers are among the most disturbing and dangerous violent
criminals in existence.

They are individuals who have a history of multiple murders, normally committed over a long period of time and often with periods of apparent normality in between.

With their different appearances and motives serial killers are hard to identify and often much harder to understand. Yet they must be caught because the one unifying characteristic all serial killers share is their
inability to feel remorse for their actions, and consequently their need to keep on killing...

Some profilers believe that serial killers don't learn from their mistakes.

This book explores the greed-factor that sets in and explains how killers come to think that the more they kill and get away with it, the easier it will become.

If you want a good coffee table book about serial killers then look no further...

This is a good place to start on the subject, a nice big book with glossy images and interesting info on the worlds most famous serial killers.

Don't expect lots of pscho-analysis on motives or sociological theories as to why society breeds such monsters. This is far more tabloid/car crash journalism. And nothing wrong wih that from time to time!

An interesting read, highly recommended.

Interesting read 2 Dec 2010
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a very interesting book with lots of information and illustrations. It is easy to follow and understand and has a large number of serial killers to read about. Its good that it gives you a maximum amount of detail for each case including a picture of the offender and information like how old they were when they first killed and where they were from , how many victims. Then it explains the story and the outcome. Although its not a very fun topic to read about it is still a good read. It is quite a large book hard-covered, with dust-cover. Not for the faint hearted i might add , there are some quite hard cases in this book. Very much worth the money.

A good intro to true crime
Lots of cases are covered. Although brief the salient facts are included and it is well written. Overall I enjoyed this and read it in two sittings.
