5.0 out of 5 stars Sergey's HTML5 & CSS3 Reference 19 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An excellent addition for anyone wishing to learn the latest HTML5 and CSS3 syntax. Although not a tutorial book, it is excellent to use in conjunction with your current learning procedure.

With real references and code examples that help you determine which browsers are capable of using the latest code. If you are finding the new syntax or tags difficult, this book gives you the reference you need.

Overall and excellent guide for beginners and intermediates looking to update their skill set.

Highly recommended.

I bought this in kindle format for my Google Nexus 7.

5.0 out of 5 stars HTML5/CSS3 well covered 10 July 2012
These book covers HTML5/CSS3 to full extends. It is a good reference for it, and too bad some of the features only implemented in the latest generation of browsers. The new features for canvas and audio / video as well as the HTML5 semantic page structure are well defined. Unlike any other book I know, it has full coverage of HTML5 syntax: it explains properly when you don't have to use closing tags, quotes, etc. Author is using very minimalist and concise approach avoiding unnecessary verbosity making it extremely easy to use.

Good as a reference to dip into but the grammar and spelling errors keep getting in the way of the flow.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cutting Edge, but some unusual gaps in the Book. 11 Feb 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I constantly refer to this book, but it has some unusual gaps on some pages. It's almost like its been put to press to early. Not a big problem, but baffling all the same.

This book is early doors for HTML5 and CSS3, but it tells you it's where in the life cycle each tag and selector is with W3C - something to bear in mind. It even lists support for API's such as Geolocation.

I still feel it's been rushed out early, to catch the market early.

This was an excellent reference book, aimed at those with some knowledge of HTML and CSS programming though perhaps too demanding for those just tinkering around the edges.
