The best I've ever heard 28 April 2010
I used to play the trumpet when I was at school - and have always had a love for trumpet music. There are many good trumpeters around today - both male and female but this recording is without doubt the best trumpet playing I've heard. It is exciting, audacious and cheeky all at once.
I don't think anyone should be allowed to play that well!!

Terrific Trumpets. 1 Sep 2011
I had not previously heard of Sergei Nakariakov, and only bought the CD to get one piece. However this chap really does know how to play and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Trumpet at it's best! 13 Jan 2000
By Noah Lambert - Published on Amazon.com
Sergei Nakarjakov is awesome! Everything about his playing is perfect. His tone and technical pursuits are amazing. Also amazing is that he takes technical show off piece like the Carnival of Venice and makes it MUSIC. The soul that is in this music is like nothing that I have ever heard and even if your not a trumpet player I would buy this album and as many other albums of Sergei Nakarjakov's as you could!

What a talent 19 April 2009
By Anon - Published on Amazon.com
This series of short pieces well demonstrates the virtuosity of this young player. Carnival in Venice is particularly excellent. I hope it will be an inspiration to my grandson learner

PERFECTION WITH A TOUCH OF ELEGANCE 19 Nov 2008
By Anthony Horowitz - Published on Amazon.com

It seems that every generation has its wünderkind in various areas of endeavor. This generation of trumpet players has Sergei Nakariakov. He is truly the Vladimir Horowitz, Jascha Heifitz, or Art Tatum of the trumpet and flugelhorn. Unlike many technical phenoms, Nakariakov carries off his musical alchemy with the warmth of a cashmere blanket, and the sincerity of a country physician. His sound is as sweet as a bride saying "I do." There is no room for improvement, or criticism. He is the Malcolm McNabb of his generation.
