Format: Paperback
This book is clearly aimed at the coaching market as a lot of the tools you use come from that arena such as a take on the wheel of life, anchors, and the Cartesian coordinate questions, and as such would appeal to coaches, therapists and trainers.

However it is also a book that anyone who is interested in personal development, mastery and success could easily benefit from. There are many books on success out there, but a lot of them have very broad concepts that are either too weird or too complicated to implement in the hectic lives that a lot of people lead these days.

This is a book that can be read from cover to cover, or also a bite at a time, and I can see people reading it on trains, planes or wherever people are, when they have a few minutes to spare. There are also enough tools in it, to take one and use it for that day, depending what challenge you are currently facing, or your state of mind at that moment.

I have personally read a lot of books, and in general read 2 or 3 a month, but a lot of them I don't finish because I get bored easily, that wasn't the case with this book. Although it is a meaty book 218 pages, I still read it cover to cover very rapidly, and did apply some of the tools. Especially the chapter at the end where its condensed into a workable format of all the ideas and tools that had preceded chapter 14. in fact you could just read that last chapter and have enough there to help you on any goals or dreams you are working on at the present.

"Serendipity's Secret" is a "must-read" for anyone wishing to experience the power of coaching, as well as a useful reminder of successful coaching techniques for practising coaches.

The fun and vivid story of Serendipity the cat and her life-coach, Pollyanna the parrot, illustrates beautifully how we can all take responsibility for our lives to help us achieve our goals and find happiness. The book also contains self-coaching exercises to enable the reader to follow Serendipity's example by setting goals and taking actions to reach them.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to make the journey towards achieving their true potential and, like Serendipity, to feel like "the cat that got the cream"!

Format: Paperback
This book is a self-help guide to coaching and self-discovery cleverly written as a novel from the viewpoint of an unfulfilled cat called Serendipity. Reading this book I very much wanted Serendipity to make the changes and found myself willing her to move on from her `comfortable life'. It was easy to become part of the journey of self-discovery because Samantha has written her book in such a beautiful way with an understanding and empathy that makes the characters come across as authentic with real life challenges, hopes, dreams and at times despair. Serendipity's Secret speaks to the reader not at them and in conveying self coaching in a story format, I feel, makes it accessible to many. The exercises are clear and easy to follow and the sensitive acknowledgement of Serendipity's obstacles and limiting beliefs and thoughts gives this book a reality many other self-help books lack. A book I would recommend for life coaches and anyone who finds they are at a crossroads in their life.

In Serendipity's Secret Samantha Babbington cleverly combines a touching story about a cat with what is in effect a self help text book about the process of coaching. This is a book that can be read for pure enjoyement or to gain knowledge and insight into coaching or for self improvment. Samantha weaves psycholgical theories into the story in a way in which the reader can easily relate to while not interfering with the flow of the story. As a therapist and trainer of therapists and counsellors, I have given this book to trainee counsellors as both a psychological and personal development tool, and would recommend it for anyone with an interest in the process of change and self-help, either personally or professionally.

If you ever wondered what coaching is all about and whether it really can change your life then this is a book for you. If you just follow the journey of the main character and ask yourself the same questions as she did and honestly answer them and then follow up by actions you will get a set of coaching sessions for the fraction of the fee working with a life coach.

It's not a substitute for coaching but it shows you the power of coaching and eventually just referring to the information in the book it might be enough to make a shift in your life.

I've read loads books on coaching and general self-help. To be honest I didn't expect much from "another book on creating the life you want" but I couldn't stop reading this one. The story line captives you and you live through successes and setbacks of the main character.

It's a great material for coaches to be and experienced coaches as well. I found much valuable information for myself, my favourite part is on how the author explains procrastination:
"... Procrastination is masterful at finding your weaknesses and exploiting them for its own gain. It will convince you that you should wait until everything is perfect before you take action. ... The longer you put things off, the more opportunities will pass you by and the more difficult taking action will become..."

This a great book, strongly recommend it!
