Serbian is the language spoken in Serbia and by the Serbs who live in other parts of the former Yugoslavia. Due to its similarities to Croatian, the two languages used to be fused into Serbo-Croat, which was the official language of Yugoslavia until the break-up in the early 1990s. This item is described as a dictionary and phrasebook. This book is divided into fifty percent phrasebook, 25 percent English to Serbian dictionary and 25 percent Serbian to English. If you are looking for a Serbian dictionary, and not just a phrasebook with a small dictionary, look elsewhere!

Good basic phrase book for normal tourist situations with additional sections that few of us will ever need such as 'Agriculture' plus extensive vocabulary on 'Relief Aid', 'War' and 'Politics' which gives an unhappy view of a beautiful country.

When learning a foreign language, a dictionary is a one book which one must have. Of course this dictionary does not cover the whole Serbian vocabulary, but it surely does cover the average needs of a beginner student.
