While listening to Radio 4 my interest was taken by the classical/gypsy backing on Hallelujah and I was inspired to the buy cd. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all other tracks lived up & surpassed the Hallelujah track. She has a beautiful voice

Each of Yasmin's cd's is a journey through heartfelt emotion and passion. Having travelled from Ireland to London to see her perform during her "Mano Suave" tour the experience was well worth the effort and i could not wait for the release of her next cd. Sentir does not disappoint in any way. While more jazzy and smooth than Mano Suave, La Juderia or Romance and Yasmin, it marks a maturity and security in Yasmin's establishment as a world class Ladino artist. She has explored vocally and musically the diverse beauty of Ladino's rich heritage and has presented in Sentir, an offering of song that captivates the heart and mind.
As you explore her music more, one finds a simplicity of expression yet truely professional approach in her endeavour to share a part of her heart and heritage with us.
In the midst of frequently rainy and misty Irish weather, Sentir has brought the warmth of the sun to my heart, it is a pleasure to listen to and Yasmin is an artist well worth investing in!

Four Quarters Ent. presents "SENTIR", Yasmin Levy previously worked with Jerry Boys, teamed up with Javier Limon co-producer of the tremendously successful Bebo & Cigala album "Lagrimas Negras". Levy helps blend flamenco with a folk genre that dates back to the Jews expulsion from Spain in 1492.
To be sure, Sentir draws a diversity of influences. Yasmin includes original contemporary material (by Limon, Levy and her brother Yuval), brings a Cuban jazz reimagining to the old ladino song "Mi Korason" and finds a fresh way to arrange Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah."
Yasmin honors her late father Yitzhak Levy, a cantor musicologist with an interpretation of the Ladino songbook, by singing a duet with him. This was accomplished by dubbing in his vocals from a decade-old recording of the song "Una Pastora". Yasmin states, "This is one of the most beautiful songs my father ever recorded. His Singing is something holy for me, and I was afraid to touch it .. until I realized that it was my own fears I needed to overcome."

Great album and stunning voice. I can't stop listening to her version on Hallelujah - sublime.

Quite nice
A bit too heavy on the faux emotional, yodelly sounds for me, but this is still a very pleasant album. Read more

right music wrong place
great music but unfortunately i live in rainy grey manchester and the music is more suitable for the hot clear blue sky climates with olive groves
