4.0 out of 5 stars Relaxing Time Gone By 22 April 2009
By C. Stephenson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was taking my son to school and really enjoying this song on KJAZZ out of Long Beach, CA and waited for the artist & title to be revealed. The music was just so relaxing and timeless that I ordered it as soon as I got home. The cd arrived a few days later and I play it whenever I just want to take my thoughts to a chilled out space.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Guarabe and Here LP's on (1) CD 11 July 2006
By Jack Gechter - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I bought this CD to replace my worn out 1976 Guarabe LP. The Here LP was a bonus for me as many cd's that we buy now to replace our old record LP's from back in the day. This great CD reunites Cal with his old Partner in Crime Clare Fischer and also exposes us Latin Jazz fans to a young Poncho Sanchez that will soon show his greatness that is mentored by Cal Tjader and Mongo Santamaria. This CD also features a very talented Bob Redfield on electric guitar with his Wes Montgomery style, especially on "This Masquerade" made famous by George Benson. As Mark Holston sez in his liner notes for this cd "Cal Tjader was one Serious Cat". This cd is a must for all you Cal Tjader fans out there. Viva Cal Tjader!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Dig the Tjader 8 Nov 2004
By T. Snyder - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Here and There is a solid live effort from the late 70's from the Latin jazz master of the vibes. It's a very laid-back effort.

There's great vibes-playing as always with any Tjader cd. I find this CD to be more laid-back than usual though. It settles into a low mellow mood.

I find that some of the electric piano gets a little old after awhile though. I do love track 9 "Morning" which is one of the finer versions of that song.

Overall a great Tjader release from the latter-end of his great career.
