I have seen Marti live in concert on the Sentimental Tour and it was such an enjoyable experience, different of course to Wet Wet Wet,he showed how truly talented he is, the voice was so smooth and honest. I have listened to the CD constantly, his interpretation of these very beautiful songs is unique, they give such an inner peace. He sings thenm from the heart

Good Songs, Great voice, Brilliant Arrangements, 2 Dec 2008
This is a top album if you like jazz standards and like Marti Pello. If you hate jazz and only like the Wets, which is fair enough, then you may not enjoy it so much. The arrangements of theses songs are sutle, thoughtful and evocative. Marti Pello's voice is great, and he conveys the mood of the songs brilliantly. The songs gathered in this album are really good songs, although some are quite sad. "You Must Believe In Spring" is the most moving song I have ever heard. I think this album is good.

Excellent, 20 April 2008
Why do people do not consider WWW or Marti Pellow as great or cool in Britain and have never done so? I do not know the reasons and I am probably not the person who will solve this mystery:)). Whatever... Sentimental me is an excellent mix of old and timeless jazz classics put into a new coat with modern and more accessible arrangements, I mean more accessible for the 21st century. The musicians and the arrangements are first class. The vocal arrangements are just stunning. For me as a fan of all the old films and music of Frank Sinatra, Bing Cosby, Sammy Davis Jr. and all the other great entertainer of that time I was very looking forward to this album and have not been disappointed. My personal favourites on the album are the more uptempo songs like Tell me all about it and Take a letter Miss Jones. That's music making my feet whipping. I just love it. The only thing I have to admit is I personally wished there would have been one or two more of this kind of uptempo songs on it (that's why I would rate the album with only 4,5 stars) and I wished there would have been one or two more of his own songs. That Marti can do it he proved with Chicago Rose. I am always looking for music that is out of the mainstream but it has to be done in a professionell way. And this album is. Congratulations for doing an album that probably will not very popular with everyone this days but for me it is one of the best I have heard for a long time (except Amy Winehouse). But whatever people will tell you in a review please have a listen and make up your own mind. For today's ears and especially for younger listeners it may take a while to get into that jazzy thing but it's worth.
