Pretty disappointing really. There just aren't enough simple words like prepositions and connectives - vital to sentence formation - to make the games work properly. I would send it back but I doubt I'll get round to it.

Where are my word endings? 21 Mar. 2014

I'm a speech-language pathologist and was hoping to use this with my students for word order, sentence expansion, etc. They enjoy it but there aren't word endings so many of the sentences they try to build aren't grammatically correct!

Tiny cards 17 Mar. 2014

I tried using this with my 1st graders. The vocabulary was limited and did not include all the sight words that would have helped in building sentences, We ended up writing words on the back of the cards with dry erase markers. Good idea -- limited amount of words.

My students love this resource 30 Aug. 2014

I am a Special Education teacher. One area my students struggle in is writing sentences and another is reading them. My students love this resource. They have to make complete sentences that have a capital letter in the beginning and punctuation at the end. Then they have to read it. They challenge each other to see who can get the most sentences and love that they get them correct and can read them. I bought this version and the silly sentence version and am looking for more to keep their interest. I recommend this product for teaching students that struggle in this area. This makes a great learning center. My next step is to have them start writing down the sentences they create and eventually fade the use of this product to independent writing. I have a K-5 classroom so when one group has mastered the task there is another group right behind them.

This was as expected, came on time, and I especially liked that the instructions were written on the box (for games, color coding, etc). The pieces are sturdy, the box is sturdy, have already been using it in class. Big hit!
