Reclusive illustrator of childrens' books Wade Mixon(Robert Picardo) leads a tortured existance, his world a collage of fantasy and reality constantly blurred. A traumatic event from his childhood consumes him and continues to influence his actions many years later. Then, the prospect of love comes calling at his door. Can Wade exorcise his real and imaginary demons before they destroy him and those around him?...
The previous reviewer is quite right. It would be difficult to reveal too much of the plot of this mind bending psychological thriller without spoiling it for others. I will say that after it had finished, I did have the slight feeling that, clever though it was, Sensored is slightly less than the sum of its parts.
That is a minor quibble however, as the film is a very clever, thought provoking affair, unfairly compared to Saw in some reviews I have read, it's more a cerebral take on 'Nightmares In A Damaged Brain', if one must compare it to horrors from the past.
One thing is for sure, and that is that Robert Picardo carries the film with a superb, multi-faceted performance that is both heartbreaking and chilling by turns.
I was slighly disappointed by the lack of any extras on this release, as this is one film I would have liked a directors commentary for. The film itself is well worth the purchase though, as it is a very interesting study into the inner workings of a tortured mind. 4 out of 5.

I don't want to spoil this film by telling you the whole story. But I think you'll find it a little gory, excellently acted by Robert Picardo, some moving moments, full of fantasy scenes, twists and turns and a great ending which leaves it wide open for a sequel.

An intriguing and very different film to most that I've viewed over the decades, and it not only has a uniquely odd (in a good way) fantasy element to it, - which maintains your interest level at a peak - the acting was top-notch great too.

Certain scenes were tense and exciting, others harrowing, some were educational and interesting (if you are fascinated by medical rooms and procedures), and other scenes were very emotionally moving (you really feel for the main character, Picardo, and what he's going through).

There is some gore, but not too much, so this film contained something to satisfy everyone. The flashbacks slightly irritated me as there were a lot of them, but they are needed and are essential in order to tell the main character's (Robert Picardo) story and what moulded him into the deluded and disturbed man that he is now, in adult life.

I found 'Sensored' a very interesting film and very different to anything I've ever seen before; which kept my interest going right until the end of it. I hope a sequel comes out one day as the character could do so much more.

The twists (pardon the pun) were good at the end; some bits predictable, others very surprising indeed and very unexpected.

Are the situations that the character creates within the film real or are they possibly imaginary? You decide...

This is a well executed psychological thriller that travels a journey of twists and turns that because of the subject matter never feels contrived or forced. Robert Picardo, an underrated actor probably because of a very distinct voice and diction, gives a very good performance of a man caught between the reality of what he does and the reality of what he isn't. Confused...well, that is part of this very intriguing idea. All the performances are good, the direction is well perceived and paced exactly right. Sure there is a bit of torture, but in the context of what the movie is about, it is perfectly placed. Not a high budget and probably shot in a short space of time, but very very well done.
