Fantastic!! 4 Sep 2002
As a student midwife, I had heard people talking about this book, and decided to read it myself.

Caroline Flint's ideas outlined in this book are a refreshing alternative to the current trend for medicalisation of childbirth. Her philosophy centres around making birth as natural and special as possible, with the midwife being a friend not just a health care professional.

There are a lot of ideas in this book that I hope to use in my future practice, and I feel that this is one book that I would recommend to anyone involved in the care of childbearing women.
