No need for complex 3D engines to make up for game play!!,

The best ever Football game. I got this as soon as I heard it was out, although I paid more than I could have got it on Amazon because i could not wait...This is SO worth the money, just how I remember it, brilliant to have for when everyone comes back to your house after the pub or if you stay in and have a tournament! This is the most adictive game ever made. Like said in another review you get two other great games, but I was disapointed to see that Cannon Fodder did not have the Music I remember, but then I had the far more capable Amiga Version with the cool lyrics in it!! Can't drop my rating of this for the music on Cannon Fodder though because Sensible Soccer is what it is all about. Forget New rubbish like Fifa and Pro Evolution if you want lastability and FUN!!

Sensible soccer is probably one of the best examples of pick up and play games. The controls are simplistic yet the game play is deep. Compared to current and next gen games, Sensible Soccer is very basic but sooooo much fun. The pace is fast and the ability to use "after-touch" to curl the ball is outstanding. I would highly recommend this game except for one thing - saving game data! This is my only gripe in that any game data that is saved will be erased as soon as you turn off the machine. So, you have 2 choices; (1) invest in an awful lot of batteries or (2) buy yourself a 9 volt adaptor. Either way you are going to have to leave the machine running or else play all your matches in one go. This situation is a shame as it lessens the longevity of Sensible Soccer. It is also a feature that should be made aware to potential customers as it may have a bearing on their purchase of Sensible Soccer

At long last, the king of all footie games is back to reclaim it's crown from the fancy pants and complexities of the likes of FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. This simple but perfect football game had everyone playing in the late eighties and early nineties, yet surprisingly has still lost none of it's great gameplay.As if Sensible Soccer wasn't enough, you also get 2 further cracking bonus titles in Cannon Fodded and Mega-Lo-Mania. Another genius move is the inclusion of 2 controllers so you can relive those head to head battles of yesteryear. Absolutely superb!
