This is a gem of a book full of oddball humour featuring Sensible Hare who is always responding "not very sensibly" and his feisty sidekick Ottoman the Otter. The surreal story is perfectly complemented by David Roberts's stylish illustrations. With short chapters, it makes good bed time reading and should also appeal to older children with short attention spans. For Terry Pratchett fans, with children too young to appreciate this author, "Sensible Hare" would be a good way of introducing your offspring to a different take on the world. Above all it is a jolly good adventure tale, with romantic undertones and laugh out loud moments and I highly recommend it to young and old alike.

Myself and my Daughter loved this book, it was like a strange adventure. The charaters Sensible and Ottoman were brilliant, liked the concept of a 'one or a two' carrot problem! The illustrations were well done to.

It is very difficult to find a book that my 9 year old son would love. I picked this one at the local library. He loved it even though "mom" chose it. This means a lot. The story made him laugh, jump, imitate and invent his own ending. It turned on his imagination. The characters in the book are lovely. The story is charming and captivating. I recommend this book highly.
