I lived for a long time in Tokyo, and Rex chesney's book is probably the funniest and most authentic writing I've read about the place. If you prefer reading about drunkards, transsexuals, and gangsters, to books about sightseeing around ancient temples, this is the one to pack on your trip to the Land of the Rising Sun.
