I've always been a fan of Sennheiser headphones. They've always struck the right balance between quality and affordability. I needed a new pair of headphones for the gym and for running so ordered these and some in ear models (see other review).

To cut to the chase, these headphones sport the usual decent sound quality that you'd expect from a Sennheiser product. The bass is punchy and the mid and treble performs decently too. Not an audiophiles dream, but good enough for the gym. The flexible plastic build of the headphones is a great idea and the sweat proof feature is, obviously, very welcome.

The main (and pretty huge) problem with these headphones is they simply don't stay on your head properly! I like to think I don't have a particuarly irregular head but with any rigorous exercise, they simply fly off the front of your head and land on the road/tarmac/treadmill etc.

Shame, as they look good, are clearly designed with quality in mind and have a decent sound quality.

I have one quibble with this - it's been partnered with Adidas. I see little point in this as Seinnheiser are a well respected manufacturer, they don't need to do this, but I understand that the partnership gets them into the 'sports/athletic' world of headphone wearers. Anyway, with that grumble out the way...

These really a nice set of headphones. Good level of bass and mid tones, highs are clear and not ear-bleeding.
I find them comfortable enough for a jog, whether outdoors or on the treadmill, and totally fine when on the weights machines.
I tend to wear them for about 1.5 hours at the most, and they stay comfortable during that time.
It's pretty obvious that these stay in your ears while moving, unlike non-headband styles - which means you can focus on what you're doing.
(I would recommend giving them a wipe after your regime, because, let's face it, you'll sweat on them, and you don't want them stinking now, do you?)

You can buy these in different colours... a lovely silver/black, or white. (Nothing in rave-like luminescent colours, thankfully - although it's a bright white!).

The price isn't too bad, although I think you're paying for the joint branding... But, ignoring that, these are a decent buy, and would recommend to you.

I've been struggling for a while to find headphones for use at the gym. Regular push-in buds fall-out too easily, the ones with moulded ear hooks are slightly better but I've never found a brilliant fit, and they've all struggled with the reality of sweat in the ear 20-30 minutes into a session on the treadmill. These headphones have solved those problems for me. They're Sennheiser so the sound is great. They have a premium almost rubberised feel to the materials which is ideal for dealing with that sweat. The big leap for me was moving back to the old headband format. How retro. How 80s. But for practicality over style the simple truth is that this format works best when you're running. They stay on, and stay in, and sound great.

The big bonus for me, and the reason for the 5* is the total unexpected bonus of the quality of iPhone integration. You can answer calls, and it must have a mic somewhere because the other end can hear you clearly on the phone without taking the phone out your pocket or armband if running. There was no set-up involved. Just plug in the headphone jack and this feature set 'just worked'. Very happy overall with the product. My wife has the white version which goes better with her gear - and she's just as happy with them - but having see both colours I think the black is the more stylish unless you really have a white iPhone you want to match.

I tried a lot of headphones for sports, and I always been disappointed until now.
Then, I saw this product, and I decided to give it a try.

I didn't like the look of it, quite old fashion, but in fact, once it's on your head, it's not really a problem.
And, most important, it's comfortable, incredibly light and it stays on your head while you're running, or at the gym ! Even when you're sweating, it doesn't move ! It's the first time I find headphones as reliable for sport, and it's really nice.

I discovered recently that, after having a quite short haircut (~1-2 cm), the headband slips a bit, but even with that, it didn't fall, not even one time. I just found myself replacing the headband 2 or 3 times during a 1 hour run, which is not really problematic. But I don't know how it performs if you have shorter hair than that, or if you're bald.

The sound is really good too, and you can still hear external noises, which is important when you're running outside.

About the smart remote, only the middle button seems to work on Android. Which allows you to do play / pause / next song, but no volume control by default.

overall, I'm really impressed, and I highly recommend it !

Pros :
- Stays on your head while running - at the gym, even if you sweat a lot
- Comfortable
- Light
- Water resistant
- Sound quality

Cons :
- Slips a bit, but doesn't fall, if you have a really close haircut
- Only one button works on Android
