The EAC control
These headphones come equipped with the integrated EAC remote control. Exclusively developed for the use of Apple products and featuring a built-in microphone it lets you control the volume, stop, pause and skip tracks, accept or reject calls, and even voice control your mobile device. I am a regular trail runner so I thought I would buy the 'open' version of these headphones because they were 'designed' to allow noise in, well I cannot get on with these headphones at all. So much so that they are now resigned to sitting in my drawer whilst I continue to use my old ones (some Sony in-ear headphones).
Why is this so, well there are a few reasons. The headphones do not stay in my ears, regardless of the earfin's whenever anything pulls on the headphone cord they come out of my ears (having tried a combination of all of the bits I was provided with). This is a pretty fundamental for a set of headphones. The only time I took them out for a (thankfully) short run I became so frustrated that I almost thew them away when I got back. Also, if you like the idea of bass with your music, don't get the 'open' version. You won't get any.
If you have any phone that is not an iPhone, don't think that the volume buttons will work. Sennheiser have managed to balls it up so that the buttons only work with apple products (not that I have tried it with them). My android phone has no idea what is going on and certainly does not allow me to raise or lower the volume of my music with the available buttons.
I still need a new pair of headphones so I think I'll give the 'closed' versions of the headphones a try. A sucker for punishement? Only time will tell.

The headset doesn't "remove' you from the world around you which is safe for road running. The volume and play/pause function are really good, triple and double pressing to fast forward and back is difficult while running.

I would say if your into sports and you like to listen to music or use a personal trainer app like Mi or Nike+ then these are pretty good headphones.
I used to wear just ordinary headphones but after 30min of sweat they would just not be any use. So I invested in this pair. The price is a little steep but, I know that both brands wouldn't collaborate unless the quality was there.
The size options for the ear fins are good, you can wear with or without. iPhone/iPod controller system works seamlessly. Plus the wee pouch is handy for keeping everything together in the gym bag!..
I even bought the Adidas iPhone arm band!!
I've even started to see other people wear the same headphones at the gym... so they must look good too!! :)

Works Like it Should do
Theses earphones do the job they are meant too, yes they are "open" when running, cycling or walking you can still hear cars or people shouting at you (which could be important). Read more
