great headphones, really comfy, and good to wear on the bus as very little sound is released into your surroundings. the only bad thing is they don't fold away so when i get to uni and ive got tonnes of books in my bag im scared they going to get ruined, crushed scratched and marked, good idea to get a little pouch bag or something to prevent this from happening if your like me and tend to just stuff everything into your bag

good stuff. took as long as what i was told it would take to receive, came in brand new condition- love them. No problems at all. My critique on the headphones would be that they are good & they are specialised for bass, but it's maybe not the best for that, still a high standard but because the phone are nicely cushioned, kind of gets rid of the deepness you get when listening to bass stuff. the design is simple & sleek & their an easy fit on anybody's head.

    Ciao!

I am very impressed with the headphones. They sit comfortably on the ears and the sound quality is excellent. People do notice them and the landlady in the local pub said to me "What is a grown man doing with those things on your head?" Little does she realise what she is missing.

These headphones are smaller than you'd think from the picture. They're "supra-aural", or on-ear, rather than over-ear, providing a limited amount of natural noise cancellation. They've also been designed for portable music players, especially the iPod (hence the white colour), and since portable players are usually lacking in the bass range this is where they excel. However, if you want to use them on something other than a portable player you might have a problem. I tried using them with speakers attached to an iMac and I found the bass to be overpowering even after changing equaliser presets.

There is some noise conduction down the wire. This is common with Sennheiser phones and is only really a problem if you move or touch the wire a lot.

Sennheiser generally make good headphones, especially wireless ones, which of course eliminate the noise-down-wire issue. These are no exception if you get them for an iPod or similar player.

(- half a star, if it were possible, for the irritating packaging: a plastic blister pack which has to be cut open.)

I have had both the PX200 and these HD228's. Overall they are great, fit very comfortably on the ears. The bass is very powerful, so much with some songs that I had to change the equalizer settings on my Sony MP3 player. I am very happy with the quality, especially for £36! Buy these now!

I'm afraid, a big fat NO. Just about AVERAGE for the money. These phones are neither here nor there with regards to sound. Like other buyers, the reviews and brand reputatation made me buy these phones. And the attractive design is the only saving grace here. There are better phones on the market for same price.
    Sennheiser 228:
5/10 Speakers/Sound: WEAK ON VOLUME & NO DEPTH. Bass is weak. But Clear and bright on mid range.
4/10 Wires/Jack: CRACKLING when Jack (not gold plated, cheaper Sony is)is touched or pressured (as its not 90d angle), and comes with disappointingly "thin" wires.
5/10 Build : Feels "ok"ish in the hand. Upon closer inspection, realise its flimsy thin plastic.
9/10 Comfort: Extremely comfortable and lightweight and good size for outdoors - fits well.
9/10 Appeal: Very stylish and fashionable brand

Distractions : Weak Volume. Crackling within the wire if jack touched/pressured. Cheap Plastic.
Attractions : Beautifully designed lightweight headset.

These are just an inflated pair of Sennheisers, and the real price should be around half its amazon selling price. Can't send it back cos I had to cut the plastic box to test out how rubbish they are.

im not one to write dingy review but i feel i should offer a warning to those who may fall into the same mess i have. originally i got a pair of HD205's for xmas, they lasted nearly 4 months before packing in, the wire becoming faulty. however i put it down to the fact that the cord was 3m in length and it was the scrunching up of the wire in my pocket that did it. so i went with sennheiser again this time, one lo and behold only 4 weeks after purchase the wire is faulty and only 1 earphone gets sound.
dont get me wrong its great sound but flimsy as hell.

These headphones are mind blowing,at first i thought for $35 these phones would be Nice... but once i tested them out, i could hear everysingle tiny detail in the music, i heard sounds i didnt know were there. Plus they are very comfortable and good for public use (since they are small, stylish and light weight) the only down side is the sound does leak out ALOT an anyone around you can hear what your listening to at around the same volume as you. and the other bad side is that they do slide down every so often. All together these are nice sleek headphones on a very cheap price.
Sound Quality = 9/10 (due to not load enough)
Portability = 9/10 (due to flimsy design)
looks = 10/10 (very sleek and stylish)
    overall = 9 1/2 /10 (can i do half? i'll go for it)
