More Than Impressed 30 Dec 2007
These are my first pair of wireless headphones and Sennheiser are a brand that constantly produces the goods. As with most products I buy these days I spent time reading other reviews first and they were more than enough to convince me that these were cans that could do the job.

Setup was simple, insert the supplied rechargable batteries, place the phones on the holder and intially charge for around 16 hours - just like the manual stated. Then plug the base unit into your source, ensure the base is not at a low level, turn on your phones, volume up and away I was.

Sound quality was excellent but then I expected nothing less from Sennheiser. Next I walked from room to room, I do only live in a flat so am on the same level but the sound quality was never compromised wherever I went. There is a switch on the base unit to add a "surround" effect to the audio though you only really get the experience with music or tv programmes with great audio - if using them with a tv.

There is a tuning button on the headphones and channel selector on the base unit in case there is a problem tuning into the required source but on initial use I have not had to use these options. The headphones also have a couple of built in technical tricks to ensure the sound quality isn't affected by various source/interference issues.

Although large the cups are very comfortable and grip the head nicely, the overall quality is top notch and the product comes with a 2 year warranty.

I can see these being almost permanently stuck to my ears, its refreshing to buy a product that is straightforward to setup and does what it says it does, after only a very brief time using them I am more than impressed.

If you're sat there wondering about buying these things - do it. They are perfect.

The range is smaller than quoted, but my house has steel doors lots of steel in the structure so that kills it a bit. Yours will probably be better.

The sound is very nice, enough bass, smooth and not at all distorted or tinny until high volumes.

They are comfy with rotating ear sections, padded headband and soft foamy ear pads. VERY well made, all switches etc feel solid and robust. They are large, but not ridiculously so.

Cradle chrager is inspired design, transmitter is rather large (10cms x 7cms x 20cms).

Overall nothing to complain about. RS140s (next pair up) arent worth 40-50 quid more; I had a pair of 140s before these. The 130s (these) are miles better than similar priced Sony, Philips and Samsung offerings so go for these.

5/5 every time.

I have recently been putting up with some very cheap wireless headphones and all the whizz bangs and crackles that go with them. Finally threw them in the bin and pledged to buy some decent ones. I was going to buy some Sony MDR-RF860's but the reviews were iffy. I have had some wired Sennheiser headphones in the past so I thought I would have a look at those. The reviews looked great so dipped into the pocket and bought them. They arrived yesterday and I have hardly had them off my head. They are very comfortable (if a bit on the large side) I had to use some alkaline batteries to try them because I couldn't wait for the rechargeables to fully charge. (don't forget to take the alkaline batteries out before you put the headphones back on the re-charging stand)The sound quality is excellent. I prefer to have the SRS Surround Sound feature switched on, it really makes a difference. It seems quite important to turn the sound input up quite loud and turn the sound down on the headphones. This enables the headphones to be totally silent in between cd tracks, no hiss at all. As these phones are classed as 'open' there is some sound leakage to the outside world but not very much. All in all, very pleased with these phones. I was just not expecting them to be this good.
