I bought this headset to use with my Playstation 3 (PS3) when playing online games that have VOIP chat. I already have a USB headset adaptor (not included with the Sennheiser PC 151), which has the mic-in and headphones-out jack sockets required to link this Sennheiser to the PS3. My previous headset was a Plantronics that has the plastic bar going over your ears and behind your neck (rather than over your head). Whilst the sound and mic quality on the Plantronics headset was fine, the Sennheiser is noticeable better and way, way, way more comfortable. The mic sound seems to be a little louder too; which is good.
For those wondering how to get VOIP sound as well as the routine game sound to the headset with the PS3, you will need to plug the headphone jack into your television or surround sound system (whatever you normally use with your PS3). The mic needs to be plugged into a USB headset converter (the audio out on the USB device will therefore be empty). Then go into the PS3 XBM menu: go to settings, then device settings, then audio device; and change the output to "system default" and the mic input to whatever the name of your USB headset converter is called. Brilliant when you need to talk to people to co-ordinate a Squad or Platoon attack on MAG.
The version of this Sennheiser PC 151 headset that I got was bundled with Ghost Recon 2 for the PC. The headset alone was great value, so adding a very respectable first person shooter game to the package is the 'icing on the cake' for me. Top marks Sennheiser.
