Book Description

1 Jan 1920 Bed & Breakfast
From the beloved Sandra Brown, whose "storytelling gift [is] surprisingly rare" (Toronto Sun), comes this New York Times bestselling novel, an exquisitely sensual tale of a young woman's sudden, irresistible affair with a stranger—a man whose secret could shatter her life....

Since the death of her husband, Alicia Russell has struggled to take care of her two young sons alone. But when a sudden storm threatens to ruin a family camping trip, Alicia must rely upon a stranger for help. Before long, the man offers much more than shelter from the storm.

Handsome, sensual, and slightly mysterious, Pierce Reynolds showers much-needed attention on Alicia's sons—and reminds her how it feels to be desired. But even as Pierce tempts Alicia to explore her newly reawakened longings, he holds her at arm's length, his only explanation a silent refusal to share the secrets of his heart.

Alicia knows she can't give Pierce up without a fight. But how can she convince him that love is a risk worth taking?

3.0 out of 5 stars Send No Flowers 29 Aug 2011
By Sarah Gibson TOP 50 REVIEWER TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Send No Flowers was a light hearted and easy read but the story was fairly predictable. I'd guessed Pierce's secret and the reason he didn't want to get into a relationship fairly early on and was proved correct when it was finally revealed near the end of the book. To be honest I got a bit fed up with the way he was constantly pushing Alicia away and annoyed with her that she kept letting him come back for more without demanding an explanation for his behaviour.

Although the story is predictable I did like the characters and I enjoyed it as an easy fast read that didn't require too much concentration. If you're looking for something with an intricate plot line then this probably isn't the book for you but if you're just after a sweet, somewhat steamy romance then it would be worth a try

5.0 out of 5 stars A light and nice romantic tale! 15 Feb 2001
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I really love all Sandra Brown's light romantic tales like this one and also Tidings of Great Joy, Sweet Anger, Led Astray and many more. This book contained all the juicy bits of romance, a great beginning, a sweet middle where both parties like and are greatly attracted to each other and a happy ending. I love all these simple romance where I can just relax and enjoy...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for light reading! 21 April 1999
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
I love Sandra Brown's writing. This book is very different. The characters fall in love almost immediately, but the love they share is great. I still would like to have more plot and depth to her books.

I hate it when they do that! I have read every book she has ever written, even when she wrote using a fake name for the author. These older books are great, but I've read it! Read more
