Product Description

American doctor Tara Moore wants to disappear. On the run from an abusive husband, she seeks shelter on a windswept Irish island and dismisses the villagers' speculation that she is descended from a selkie--a magical creature who is bewitching the island. But when a ghostly woman appears to her with a warning, Tara realizes it was more than chance that brought her to this island. Desperate to escape a dark and dangerous past, she struggles against a passionate attraction to handsome islander, Dominic O'Sullivan. But the enchantment of the island soon overpowers her and she falls helpless under its spell. Caught between magic and reality, Tara must find a way to wield both when a dangerous stranger from her past arrives, threatening to destroy the lives of everyone on the island.

5.0 out of 5 stars A captivating read 4 Mar 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The Selkie Spell is one of those rare books that manages to be so many things; it's charming and thrilling with so many elements thrown together in such a way as to make perfection. The book is perfectly tensioned right the way through and there was never a moment where it felt right to put it down so I stayed up till midnight reading so I could hear the end. The characters created are bright and vibrant, seeming to jump off the page and the relationships are believable and accurate. There is so much more I'd like to put here but I don't want to litter my review with spoilers for those who haven't read the book yet. Suffice to say that it is well worth the money and you will not be disappointed, a wonderful tale that will leave you desperate for more from this up and coming writer.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Read!! 30 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The Selkie Spell by Sophie Moss is a story that won't disappoint! I absolutely loved this book. I knew I wanted to read it as soon as I saw it had to do with Ireland as I love Ireland. The plot is amazing as are the characters. I really can't give enough praise to this book. Sophie Moss writes brilliantly, and I can't wait for the next book in the trilogy about Caitlan & Liam =) Plus, I want to find out more about my favourite characters Tara, Dominic, and little Kelsey =)

5.0 out of 5 stars A powerful read 23 May 2013
Format:Paperback
The legend of the selkie is as beautiful as it is heartbreaking. Add this haunting myth to the dark past of the story's protagonist and you've got yourself a book you can't put down. The cast is strong and defined, allowing you to get a feel for the characters almost immediately, plus there's one hell of a prologue that sets the scene

Moss is an exceptional writer and she demonstrates this with a silky smooth plotline that flows effortlessly from page to page - additionally, her descriptive prose will leave you hankering for a taste of Irish scenery. Although fresh and gripping, it's an easy read that's just perfect for a relaxing weekend/evening, and the touching romantic element is an added bonus to this otherwise powerful book.
