From the Author
So what makes it different? As I was writing, I focused on a number of things. I wanted it to be engaging, relevant and practical - and I wanted to make it a book people would talk about. You'll have to be the judge of whether I've succeeded or not.
Inside you'll find sections called 'Pit Stops' where you have a chance to reflect on what you've just read and how it relates to your life, and just like my previous books, S.U.M.O. and S.U.M.O. Your Relationships, I've included 'The Personal Stuff.' People have told me that they like the colour, context and authenticity that comes from these sections. And where I can, I've also tried to weave in some humour along the way.
Having worked with tens of thousands of people across the globe in business and education, I'm convinced that we desperately need to build our self-confidence in order to make a difference in life and fulfil our potential. I sincerely hope this book goes a long way towards helping you in that process.
Whatever your thoughts, once you've read it please feel free to post a review and email me at sumo@PaulMcGee.com

Confidence is the magic ingredient that changes you from a spectator into a player, and it only takes a small change to make a massive difference to what you achieve in life. If Tom Cruise was 10% taller, he′d be over 6 foot. If you had 10% more confidence, what would you be doing now?
A small change = a big difference
Packed with practical advice and a thorough grounding in all the latest techniques, Self–Confidence shows you how to:
- Move out of your comfort zone and make a difference
- Deal with nerves and stop anxiety de–railing you
- Rethink your beliefs about yourself
- recover from challenging setbacks
- Be your own best mate
- Find confidence with the help of others – and deal with those who crush it.
What you achieve in life is all down to how you feel about yourself. It′s amazing what you can do when you have the confidence to try. So what′s to stop you?
