Self Esteem by Gael Lindenfield is an easy-to-follow step-by-step guide to developing confidence and self-worth. After reading this book, I felt a new sense of well-being. Even the most confident person will learn and benefit from this book. Firstly, the book defines self esteem and it's effects, then helps us heal the old wounds that prevent the development of self-worth and finally, enables us to view ourselves in a more positive way. If you feel you have more to give yourself as a person, then this book will show you how to achieve it.

This book is a waste of money. It does not suggest any techniques that might help people with poor self-esteem to develop a sense of inner strength and self-worth. Instead, it promotes a total reliance on getting emotional validation from others. This is an extremely unhealthy approach, especially since people with poor self-esteem generally are excessively preoccupied with other people's opinion in the first place. It is painfully clear that Ms Lindenfield does not in fact have any professional expertise in this area. Don't buy this book.

this book was recommended by my counselor who I was seeing for low self esteem. it is easy to read and understand and breaks down into small bits things for you to do to overcome low self esteem. I have read lots of books over the years on self esteem and this for me was far the best.

I also have her book Confident Children and this is excellent to help give your children confidence to they dont have self esteem

I found this book interesting but having read Fulfilled: A Personal Revolution in Seven Stepsby Deidre Bounds, I think anyone interested in this subject will gain much more help, support and informaton from reading and working through Fulfilled.

But this book is definitely worth reading.
