This is a really good book. For someone just getting to grips with selfbuild like myself, it seems to have a great deal of useful info without a lot of padding. The book structure follows through the whole process of design, planning, getting land and dealing with architects and contractors. (i.e. it is not about bricklaying / timber-frame building skills) Lots of useful checklists etc. and there are some really inspiring pictures.

A practical and well written guide on the steps needed in the design and build of a self build and renovation ,a well presented layout with good illustrations, tips and expert advice from a self build architect .
