Product Description

Product Description

All of Elaine Randell's earlier books are now out of print, and this volume serves to give an overview of her entire career, from 1970 to today, covering her early lyric poems to pastorals and to searing documentary poems, often in a speaking voice, that are drawn from her professional life, where, as a social worker, she deals with children at risk.

About the Author

Elaine Randell was born in 1951 in south London, and has been living close to Romney Marsh, Kent for over thirty years. Living with her husband, three daughters, two English Setter dogs and a herd of rare breed sheep and other livestock, she works as a social worker and psychotherapist.

4.0 out of 5 stars Selected Poems, Elaine Randell, 12 April 2006
This review is from: Selected Poems 1970-2005 (Paperback)
Elaine Randell has a fine sense of the poetry of struggling humanity, and a matching ability to translate this into language. At her best, her voices possess an unforgettable lyrical power, and her characters, dramas and images can be almost unbearably truthful.
